St. John’s University: QUEENS, N.Y. (July 7, 2021) – St. John’s Men’s Basketball Head Coach Mike Anderson will take part in Beyond Justice: A RISE Critical Conversation on Sport, Race and Community-Police Relations to be live streamed Thursday on the BIG EAST’s social media platforms at 4 p.m.

In July of 2020 the BIG EAST announced a partnership with RISE (Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality), a leading provider of educational program that equips sports leaders to creative positive change on matters of racism, social justice and equality. The talk will seek to show how sports provide actionable steps to further racial equality and bridge community-police relations.

Anderson will participate in the conversation alongside BIG EAST Senior Associate Commissioner Tracy Ellis-Ward, Seton Hall men’s basketball student-athlete Myles Cale and RISE Chief Programming Officer Dr. Andrew Mac Intosh. Monica McNutt of ESPN and MSG Networks will moderate the discussion.
